WHY RENT THIS ONE

Why it's worth a spot on your weekend

“Low score wins. Somehow that makes every card suspicious.”

Skyjo is a fantastic little game for the "we have time for one more" slot. The goal sounds simple: get the lowest score. The challenge is figuring out which cards to keep, which to swap, and which mystery cards are about to ruin your beautiful little plan.

It is easy enough for kids and grandparents to play together, but there is enough decision-making to keep adults interested. It also works beautifully during a busy family weekend because you can play a round without dedicating the entire evening to it.

Put it on the table after dinner and there is a pretty good chance somebody will say, "Okay, now I know how to play. Let's do that again."

Good to know

  • Table space

Needs a normal dinner table's worth of room.

  • Reading load

Little reading. If you can look at a card, you can play.

  • Getting knocked out

Nobody gets knocked out. Everyone plays to the last turn.

  • Pausing mid-game

Easy to pause. If someone has to step out, the table survives.

  • Setup time

About 5 minutes of setup before anyone touches a piece.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Renting, answered

Can I rent Skyjo near Plattekill?

Yes — Skyjo is part of the Deep Space Family Games game shelf, available to rent by the night around Plattekill and the wider Hudson Valley area. Roughly 30 minutes out from Plattekill in every direction — delivery and local pickup only. Nothing to walk into.

Is requesting Skyjo a real reservation?

No — every button on this page is a request, not a booking. Deep Space Family Games doesn't run live availability, so we confirm by hand once you tell us you want Skyjo and when.

What happens if a piece from Skyjo goes missing?

Skyjo, like every game on the shelf, is counted against a written list before it goes out and again when it comes back, so a missing piece is a conversation with a number behind it, not a guess.
