Why it's worth a spot on your weekend

“You only need one more card. Probably.”

Looking for a game that practically anyone can sit down and play? Phase 10 is an easy choice. The rules are simple, the cards are easy to understand, and you can get through a round without needing to clear the entire afternoon.

The catch is that you are not just trying to win the hand. You have to complete ten different phases in order, so that card you desperately need this round may be completely useless next round. Someone can be cruising along while another player is stuck on the same phase wondering why the universe has personally decided they are not allowed to draw a seven.

It is great for families with different ages, casual players, grandparents, kids, and groups that want something they can play repeatedly throughout a weekend. Pull it out after dinner, play a few hands, put it away, and then inevitably bring it back out later because someone wants another shot at Phase 8.
