HOW IT WORKS
You pick. We drive. You play. We come back for the box.
No app to download, no account to make, and nothing on this site that can hold a game for you. What there is: a list, a message back from us, and an EV with a crate in the back.
THE WHOLE THING
Four steps, and two of them are just messages
No app, no account, no calendar to fight with. Games from $8 a night each, delivery a flat $12 each way — and four games on one trip is still one delivery fee.
-
Find what you want
The Shelf is everything we have — board games mostly, plus card games, dice games and a few puzzles. Every listing carries the box facts: how many players, how long it runs, and the age on the lid. Filter by any of them, or hit the dice and let it pick.
-
Send a request
Tell us the titles and the night you want them. This is the part people expect to be a booking and it isn't — nothing on this site holds a game. We check the copy is actually free and write back within one business day, either to confirm it or to put you on the waitlist for it.
-
Sort out the handover
We agree how long you are keeping it, and whether we drive it out or you arrange a pickup. Both directions are by appointment either way. This is also when you get every figure in writing — the real delivery number, sales tax, the return time — before you have committed to anything.
-
Play, then send it back
Blockbuster rules on a single night: out after 10am, back before 10am the next day. Weekends and longer stretches are fine — the weekend rate is on the listing, and anything past that we sort out when you ask.
WHAT THE DELIVERY FEE IS
The fee, explained in three lines
-
$12 each way, flat, per trip
Flat for the trip — not per game, not per mile, and not more for the far corners of the radius. Everyone inside it pays $12 each way. Four games on one run is still one fee each way, which is the whole reason to rent more than one.
-
Two fees because it is two trips
We drive it out, and then we drive back for it. The return leg is the whole reason this works as a rental rather than a purchase, and it is real driving that somebody has to do. It runs on the family EV, charged at home, with plenty of range for the job — the radius is about keeping the drive itself reasonable, not about how far the car can go, which is exactly why the fee doesn't creep up for the far side of it.
-
Or skip it and do the driving
Local pickup and drop-off are by appointment, both directions, with no delivery charge either way. Same games, same rates. There is no address on this site and nothing to walk into — a pickup is a time and a place we agree with you, and there's no radius on it either: if you're willing to make the drive, we don't care where you're coming from.
WHAT IT COSTS
The rate card
- Game rental $8+
The nightly floor — the exact rate for a title is on its shelf listing. Rent two or more at once and every game but the priciest one drops $4 off its own rate, automatically.
per game, per night - Delivery $12
Flat for the trip, not per game, not per mile, and not more for the far side of the radius.
per trip, one way - Sales tax 8–8.125%
Applies to the rental, and to delivery whenever you add it — calculated on your actual total, by county, when we reply to your request.

THE RENTAL MODEL
Your game night shouldn't end with a box of mystery pieces
The whole thing runs like a video store: a game goes out checked, and it comes back checked. Here's what happens in between.
-
Checked out
Every game leaves us matched against its own contents list, piece by piece — we know what's in the box before it's in your trunk.
-
It comes back… enthusiastic
Cards slide under the couch, dice roll off adventuring, and every so often a box comes home looking like it was repacked by a raccoon in a hurry. We've seen it. We're not mad.
-
We check it. Twice.
Matched against that same list again, wiped down, and — for puzzles — piece-counted. A late or unsorted return carries a fee, spelled out in writing before you ever agree to anything, because somebody else is usually waiting on that exact copy. A missing piece or real damage is a separate, case-by-case conversation — never a hidden surprise.
-
Complete box, next family
There's usually another family next in line for that exact copy. Your finished game night is their starting point.
