Player Screen
A small standing panel that hides a player's hand, resources, or choices from the rest of the table.
Detailed definition
A player screen is a folded cardboard panel that stands upright in front of a player, tall enough to block sightlines to whatever’s behind it — a hand of cards, a stash of resources, a set of secret choices being made that round. Some fold flat for storage and pop open at setup; others double as a mini player board on the inside face, hidden side out and reference side facing the owner.
They’re what makes a lot of bluffing and negotiation games actually work — without a real barrier, “hidden information” is just an honor system, and honor systems don’t survive a table of kids who can see everyone’s cards from where they’re sitting. A screen turns “please don’t look” into an actual guarantee.
