Dice Tower

A tower-shaped tool you drop dice through so they land randomized and contained instead of flying off the table.

Detailed definition

A dice tower is a hollow, usually tiered tower — cardboard, wood, or plastic — that dice get dropped into from the top and tumble out the bottom already rolled. The internal baffles make sure each die actually bounces around instead of sliding straight through, so the result stays fair even when someone’s a little too enthusiastic about the drop.

The bigger draw for a lot of tables is just containment: no dice skittering off the edge, no five-minute pause while someone crawls under the couch mid-game. Some games with big dice pools practically ask for one, since rolling a double handful of dice by hand tends to send at least a couple wandering. Not every rental includes one, but if a game’s own box calls for a tower, it’ll say so on the listing.
